Figures affected by fatigue?

Some of the figures in my collection are starting to show signs of fatigue. To all of you engineers out there, you should know what fatigue is. To those of you not with engineering background, ask your engineering friends since i couldn't be bothered to type it here. (Nice!)

Anyway, the worst affected figure is my Tohsaka Rin in maid uniform. Okay2, it isn't as bad as it sounds but having seen the change from when it was first bought up till now, it's worrying me a bit. Shown below is the effect of fatigue on it. When brand new, the skirt/apron was properly positioned in her hands. Now, it isn't.

There are two factors which i think are contributing to this:
1. Gravity and design: She has too much weight being offset due to the selected pose.
2. Heat: Since my apartment isn't air-conditioned, the pvc soften up when it gets warm and made her deform.

I do hope i can find a way to manage this. If not, then i'll have to pack her back into her box... or put her in the fridge.

Other updates

Let's see... oh yes.

ONE. The new Proton BLM in one of my previous post has been officially launched today by our Prime Minister. The car retains the Saga name without an additional name at the back to make it sound cool or plain dumb (no pun intended).

TWO. Just finished reading a book entitled "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert T. Kiyosaki with Sharon L. Lechter as the co-author. The book was a recommended read by a good friend of mine (thanks Aziim) and i find it a MUST READ for all of you out there who wants to get out of the 'Rat Race'...

THREE. Watched some new episodes of well known (or old) anime plus some newer ones. I sincerely recommend you to watch Gintama, especially ep.44. Other recommended titles include Over Drive, Clannad, Bamboo Blade, Rozario Vampire, True Tears and some unmentionables~

FOUR. Found that Shakugan no Shana Second is as flat as the first season. No particular reason yet, but i will find one by the end of the series. Watched Gunslinger Girl season 2 ep.1 and found the artwork and sound to be disappointing. See the first season, and you'll know what i mean.

FIVE. My figure of Tohsaka Rin seems to deform with time. i don't know whether it's just me or it really is deforming (oh no!!!). This will be covered properly in an upcoming blog.

Phew... done! (@_@)'

Patience for now...

The beautiful figure of Rei Ayanami by Kaiyodo. Image courtesy of XL-xhop

I was informed by a good friend of mine that a figure i was looking forward to have reached the shop which i regularly buy from (see XL-shop). The figure in question was the Kaiyodo Fraulen Revoltech, series No.1: Rei Ayanami. FYI, i am a very big fan of Rei. i fell in love with her from my early days in knowing the anime. She'll always be my no.1 favourite female character.

But alas... since i'm currently unemployed (a job's on the way) for now, i've no means financially to buy the figure. My current monthly allowance (this will stop once i get my first paycheck) only allows me to have some fun, fill Aoi-chan with fuel, pay my phone bill and buy necessary items ONLY. My savings are currently used to cover my rent. The last figure which i bought was the lovely Kureha from the Shining Tears X Wind anime, by Good Smile Company. That was ages ago.

So until i get that first paycheck, settle some debts (not much) & get my life on track, it seems my collection of collectibles will remain static for a while. Luckily i've some static car models (the Tamiya 1:24 scale series) which isn't completed yet. At least that ought to kill my craving for the figures for a while. Huhuhu....

Sayonara Rei-chan~~~ (T _ T)~#
