UK Work Trip, Part 3 - The finale

Alhamdulillah... at long last. The finale of this very long and colourful pics posting of my short trip to UK. Accompanying text will be placed later (gotta get other things settled as well).

Thanks for your support. Hope you'll enjoy these ones as you might have enjoyed the others (Part 1 & 2).

These pics were taken near my lodging; The Bedford Swan Hotel and the lake beside it~

The Bedford Swan Hotel parking entrance... why swan? You're about to find out in the upcoming pics

I'll be walking down this road/path along the lake (yes it's a lake, but made to look like a river. Nice) throughout this collection of pics

This is the lake itself. There's dozens of swans floating about this lake. Bedford Swan Hotel, lake with swans... get it?

Some of the locals enjoy their evening walking around the park along the lake or some water based activities, like these people here

Hmmm... nice weather. Good for some great photos~

This park runs along the lake itself. Although beautiful and enticing, i didn't have the spirit to walk from end to end. Way2 too long...

Look mommy! Swans! These swans were following me. Maybe they thought i was going to feed them or something...

See how far the one end of the park/lake is? The hotel was somewhere in the middle of the long stretch...

A tribute made in memory of the past Bedfordians. Wonder what's the history behind it...

Ok, that's it. The lake's too long. I'm heading back via the path on the other side. Will cross the lake on this bridge, one of the many bridges on the lake.

Got arty (read as stupid; you'll find out why in pics below) and snapped this great photo of the sunset in Bedford from above the bridge. Nice.

Tried my luck to make another arty pic but failed. The colour's somewhat off in this one. Darn, shouldn't have messed about with the camera setting. Now i've to use auto mode... not nice at all.

One of the many paths you can walk in the park

Noticed that the locals put up contributions like this one on the benches around the park to remember people or event.

Seems that digital cameras are becoming intelligent. Although now i'm shooting the pics in auto-mode, good pics do come about once in a while...

...or maybe not. Still, need to capture pics for momento~

A canal thingy. This is used to elevate or lower down a boat to suit the water level (height) from one lake/river to another.

Ah yes... a rowing club. That explains the people in the earlier pic rowing about in the evening

One last try on using manual setting... and yes! I've got it!

Man crosses bridge with sunset at the back. Gotta admit that the lake, parka and the surrounding buildings are just... awe inspiring~

bvc100 ponders on the last time he was in UK... and it's no wonder why he likes it.

The other entrance of the Bedford Swan Hotel. This one goes straight into the bar.

Now that work is done, we'll be having our flight back to Malaysia in the night. So, a quick tour of the town centre is a must before we head to London/Heathrow.
Now are some pics of the Bedford town centre itself~

One of the streets of the city centre. Since the town isn't that big, the roads actually goes around the town centre and you'l' have to walk within it to get to where you want. Nice! Eco friendly and no congestion.

Although that may look like a church (i think it was... previously), that is actually a shopping mall.

Locals with family enjoying this interactive piece of art.

Poundland? All items at 1 pound each? What a bargain. *SPOILER ALERT*; To those of you who did manage to get some British chocs from me, it was all bought here at 1 pound a pack. Hahahaha!

One of the older churches in Bedford which is still in use. They really love and appreciate things with historical value these people...

Now that we've arrived at Heathrow and have some hours to burn before the flight, we got adventurous and went to see the newly opened Terminal 5. Next are the pics of Heathrow airport's new Terminal 5

Like all modern airports, this one is freakishly huge. But somehow, i didn't find the design to be interesting. To be honest, i found it dead boring.

Some of the people either waiting to get on a flight or greeting someone from one at Terminal 5

Took this one while munching a vegetarian sandwich bought at one of the outlets there. See, no interesting design features whatsoever... and a burnt lightbulb to match (middle of pic)

One of the thing that occured to me is that the environment seemed calm, just like KLIA. Does this mean that both KLIA and this place aren't utilized to the max?

No, those are not cooling towers. Those are actually the lifts for the car park behind it.

Right. 3 more hours before the flight. Let's get some last photos before we go home. These ones are taken at Terminal 3.
