Another quickie - 1429H/2008M review

It's that time of the year again to review the past year and get ready for the next. Uncannily, the year's new year almost coincide with the Ma'al Hijrah (New year for the Muslim calendar) so, i'll make a quick review for both.

On the Hijrah side, all have been fairly good, especially for the Ramadhan and Syawal months. Since now i'm in the working force, these two months have been challenging and interesting at the same time. For the first time ever, i paid my own Zakat Fitrah and gave out duit raya (angpows) to family members and close relatives.

On the normal calendar's side, as mentioned i got into the working force. And with that all the great challenges and learning experience that comes as a bonus. The only downer... well 2 downer, was when i found about my health (prone to high blood pressure, especially when stressed) and when Aoi-chan acted up on my birthday. The rest is as they say; spice of life.

Anyhow, would like to take this opportunity to wish:

Salam Maal Hijrah 1430 to all Muslims (sorry it's belated) and a very Happy New Year to all~~~

Quickie - 24/12/2005

Gotta admit that luck isn't on my side right now, but looking on the bright side it could've been worse still.

Anyhow, i'm finishing up a bumper collection of my artworks for the past month or so. Expect to see it here (scaled) and other places (full size @ deviantart and minitokyo. Links on the right). Here's hoping that it'll be just as good or better than previous works. You guys decide.

Went to dinner with my parents last night at a good western food stall at Pandan Indah (thanks to Arul for showing me the place). Whilst digging in the food, we were watching (read as forced to watch) a drama series on TV3; Ku Milik Mu. I noticed that the sound engineers were using Hayate no Gotoku's soundtracks in the drama. It seemed odd for me since i just finished watching the anime yesterday evening. Truth to be told, it didn't blend in the drama at all (read as used too extensively). Kinda weird and sort of nice at the same time knowing that there's otaku out there running the Malaysian media industry; found some other drama/telemovie/advertisements (radio, tv, printed) using anime soundtracks or modified anime characters. Nice!

2 Kenduris Pics~~~

Okay, here it is (at long last...). Below are links to the respective pics of weddings of good friends of mine. Can't post it all here on the blog (it'll be as long as the UK trip thing; which is very hard to read/follow).

Enjoy~~~

Quickie - 9/12/2008

What a disaster! The landslide that occured at the Bukit Antarabangsa here had affected some of my relatives. Thankfully they weren't directly involved... But those who were, my condolences and deepest regret for them.

The Eidul-Adha was yesterday and since it was raining all day long, no further activities were done after the sunat prayers. Usually, i will go to the nearest Surau or Masjid to join the Qurban activities. Seeing how wet it was, i doubt that they did it in the morning... or the evening. Maybe they'll do it today.

And since the celebration isn't as big or lively as Eid-Mubarak, here i am typing this at my desk in the office. Most of the Muslim collegues opted to take an extended leave, but me... i totally forgot to apply for mine and hence this situation. i can just cry... and to top it off my grandparents from Muar are now at my parent's house. How i wish i could be there instead and enjoy their company.

Oh well... to all of my fellow Muslim friends and are on their extended leave; Happy (belated?) Eidul-Adha and lucky sods...

p/s: Haven't posted any new artworks anywhere on the net for about a month. Will be posting loads for the Xmas~
